For the past year Mr.Greenhoe had been almost helpless and as health could not be restored, death came as a great relief. The funeral was held from the Quarterline church on Sunday at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. D. H. Shelly of Ionia. The remains were brought to the Palo cemetery for interment. Joseph E. Greenhoe was born June 8, 1830 in Chippaway township, Wayne county, Ohio. When quite young he moved with his parents to Medina County, Ohio. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Isenberger in 1854. To this union, four children were born of whom three with their mother survive him. He moved with his family to Michigan in 1865, and settled on the farm where he resided until his death. He gave his heart to God 54 years ago and has been a faithful Christian until he departed from this life on Friday evening at 9:30 pm May 13, 1904, age 73 years 11 months and five days. He has been a devoted husband, a loving father, a faithful Christian, a kind, loving neighbor and all who knew him respected him. Besides his family, he leaves five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, four brothers and a host of friends to mourn his loss. The funeral took place on Sunday May 15 at 2 p.m. at the East Bushnell Baptist church and the remains were laid at rest in the Palo cemetery, Rev. D. H. Shelly of Ionia officiating.
