Greenhoe, age 88, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2004. He was born on May 19, 1916 in Sheridan, the son of Charles and Eva (Soules) Greenhoe. Mr. Greenhoe was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, where he received a Purple Heart, and was a life member of the Lyons V.F.W. Post #4646. He retired from the State Department of Mental Health. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, LaVern Greenhoe; sister, Velma Cyphers. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Ruby Greenhoe of Ionia; three children, Terri (Greg) Way of LeRoy, Texas, Ryan Greenhoe of Ionia and Steven Greenhoe of Grand Rapids; two grandchildren, Pam Meyers and Landon Greenhoe; three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Tyffani and D.J.; sister-in-law, Elaine Greenhoe of Ionia; several nieces and nephews. The memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Martin Culver, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Ionia, and Rev. Greg Way, at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Ionia. Military Honors will be provided by the Portland V.F.W. Post #4090. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Thursday.
