Greenleaf, 77, a well-known Muir farmer and bee-keeper died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon at the home of a neighbor following a heart attack. He had gone to the home of Irwin Reed on an errand when he was stricken by the heart attack and died. Mr. Greenleaf had lived on his farm, one mile north of Muir, for nearly 29 years. He was born November 2, 1874 in Cass City and was one of seven children born to James A. and Mary J. Greenleaf. In 1898 he went to Cleveland, Ohio where he was employed as a stationary engineer for 25 years. He was married in 1901 to Mary M. Keck, who later died in 1906. They had two children, Stanley C., and one daughter who died in infancy. In 1913 he married Alice S. Garrett and they had one son, George H. Was Church Elder As a member of the Ionia Church of Christ, Mr. Greenleaf served as an elder in the church for many years. He was secretary-treasurer of the Ionia-Montcalm Beekeepers association for 15 years. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Court O. Adams Wednesday afternoon at the Ionia Church of Christ at 2 o’clock. Burial will be in the Muir cemetery. The body will repose at the Shaw-Rivett funeral home in Muir until the time of the service. Survivors are his wife, Alice; two sons, Stanley C. of San Diego, Calif., and George H. of Lansing; one brother Alexander S. of Kingston and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
