Lake Odessa Scrapbook - November 1896

John Greenman an Orange school teacher died from the effects of a carbuncle on 
his neck. It made its appearance several days ago and rapidly developed into a 
dangerous swelling. The patient suffered with spasms and finally resulted in his 
death, the base of the brain being effected. His wife had just arrived from 
Canada, where she had been called to attend her father, who was said to be dying. 
Deceased was 44 years of age, funeral services were held Monday in the M.E.Church 
and was buried in Lakeside Cemetery. Mr.Greenman was was insured in the Maccabees 
for $2,000.
