Clemens was announced last week. Rev. Edrie Collins pastor of the Congregational Church and an intimate friend of the deceased preached the funeral sermon and spoke words of consolation to the grief-stricken family. The floral offerings from friends were beautiful. After the ceremonies at the house were completed a large procession of friends accompanied the remains to their last resting place in the Orleans cemetery. There were twenty-five automobiles in the procession and it is said there were as many more at the grave when the said cortege reached there. The Masons and Oddfellows attended in a body and the large attendance at the funeral spoke no uncertain way of the respect in which the deceased was held in the community. A heavy rainstorm at the time of burial made it impossible to conduct the Masonic service at the grave.
