The Lowell Ledger, April 29, 1909


Eliza (Lernon) Gregory was born Ionia county, Mich., in 1833 and departed this 
life at the Soldiers Home Annex, Grand Rapids, April 20, 1909, aged 76 years.  

Mrs. Gregory was left a widow in 1862, her husband having departed this life 
in his regimental hospital at Atlanta, Ga., in the early part of the civil 
war.  She was a resident of Ionia city for 45 years until last December, when 
she entered the Soldiers Home Annex.  She was the mother of two sons, one 
departed this life in early childhood and George W. Gregory of Cascade who 
remain to mourn the loss of mother.  

The funeral of Mrs. Gregory was held at Cascade village, Church of Christ, 
Thursday at 2:30 p.m., April 22, Rev. D. L. Berry officiating clergyman and 
she was laid at rest in Cascade cemetery.
