The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, February 17, 1955


Max O. Grell died early Thursday morning at his home at 719 Forest street after 
a lengthy illness.  He was born February 8, 1887 in Berlin, Germany, and has 
lived in Ionia for 40 years.  Mr. Grell was a life member of the Elks club.

Surviving are his wife, Celia, one daughter, Mrs. George Peterson of Ionia; two 
brothers, Emil Grell of London, Ontario and Hans Grell of Buffalo, N.Y.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock at the Myers 
funeral home with the Rev. Earl Carpenter officiating.  Interment will be at 
Highland Park cemetery.
