Ionia Sentinel Standard, 24 & 28 Oct 1963

Mrs. Frank Grescoviak, 79, died at her home, 410 North Jackson street, 
Wednesday evening.

A lifelong resident of Ionia, she was born August 27, 1884, the daughter of 
Joseph and Julia Whitelock Powell.  Mrs. Grescoviak attended SS Peter and Paul 
academy and was a member of the church and Rosary society.  She was married in 
Ionia to Frank Grescoviak July 20, 1909.

Survivors include her husband, Frank; two daughters, Mrs. Louis Bricker and 
Mrs. Richard Dunn of Ionia; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Funk and Mrs. Florence 
Makowski of Grand Rapids, Sister Mary Walter of Pontiac, and Sister Leonita of 
Wyandotte; a brother, Adam Powell of Flint; and eight grandchildren.  A son, 
Lawrence preceded her in death December 27, 1953.

Rosary will be recited at 7:30 Friday evening at Myers funeral home, followed 
by rosary by members of Knight of Columbus.  Requiem High Mass will be 
celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul church Saturday at 10 a.m. with interment at 
Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Requiem High Mass was sung Saturday morning at 10 o’clock at SS. Peter and Paul 
church for Mrs. Frank Grescoviak of 410 North Jackson street, who died 
Wednesday evening.  Fr. Paul Johnson was mass celebrant.  Bearers were Richard 
Dunn, Jr., Lawrence Grescoviak, Jr., David Bricker, Fred Powell, Francis Haslem 
and Clare Makowski.  Interment was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Attending services from away were Sister M. Walter of Pontiac, Sister M. 
Leonita of Wyandotte, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Powell of Flint, Mrs. Mary Funk, Mr. 
and Mrs. G. Makowski, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Makowski, Mr. and Mrs. Clare Makowski, 
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Makowski, Bernard Makowski, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Slowinski, 
Mr. and Mrs. Fred M. Haslem, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Haslem, Mr. and Mrs. Merl Van 
Ee, Mrs. Stanley Witucki, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Marlett, Mr. and Mrs. J. 
Michalski, Mr. and Mrs. J. Milanowski, Mr. and Mrs. J. Reynolds, Mrs. George 
Lynch, Mrs. Tom Kennedy all of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Powell, State 
Treasurer and Mrs. Sanford A. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Shewell, Mr. and Mrs. 
E. J. Dargis, Mrs. Paul Roman, Eileen Gresco and Ruth A. Purtill of Lansing; 
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gresco of Dimondale and Mr. and Mrs. William Powell of
