Jacob Griebel, 83, Died in Ionia Friday.

Jacob J. Griebel, 83, died Friday night at the Ionia Convalescent home.  He was
born August 25, 1863, in Fort Wayne, Ind., but had resided in this community
many years.  Before coming to Lake Odessa he lived southeast of town on M-50 on
the farm now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Edwins and daughter.  He had been a
member of the Methodist church nearly all his life.

Surviving are the widow, Emma, two step-sons, Dr. Kenneth Baumgardner at Peoria,
Ill., and Keith Baumgardner in Lake Odessa, two brothers Henry at Woodland and
William at Fort Wayne, a sister Mrs. Anna Niethamer in Woodland, five
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at Central Methodist church, Tuesday at 2 with burial
in Lakeside cemetery, the Rev. Victor W. Thrall officiating.
