Ionia Sentinel Standard - 27 June 1975
Norman W. Griebel, 62, of route 1, Orleans, Haynor road, died Thursday morning 
at the Kent County Community hospital in Grand Rapids where he had been a 
patient the past two weeks.

Born in Carrollton township, Saginaw county, February 18, 1913, he was the son 
of George and Alvina Pontow Griebel and attended the Bethlehem Lutheran school 
in Saginaw.

He farmed several years before working at Mallable Iron division of General 
Motors at Saginaw.  He retired in 1956 and moved to rural Orleans in 1969.

Surviving are four brothers, Paul of Santa Rosa, Calif., Arthur of Saginaw, 
Walter of Tucson, Ariz., and Theodore of rural Orleans.

Funeral services will be Monday at 3 pm at the Leddick funeral home.  Rev. A. R. 
Gallert of St. Johns Lutheran church will officiate and interment will be 
Orleans cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 
to 9 pm.

A memorial has been established for the St Johns Lutheran church.
