Mrs. Phebe Grieves, 88, died at her home, northeast of Ionia, Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock after a long sickness. The funeral services will be held at the home Monday afternoon at 1:30 and at the Methodist Episcopal church at 2:30. The interment will take place in Highland Park cemetery. Mrs. Grieves, a native of Saratoga, N.Y. and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Winchell came to Michigan in her girlhood. She was married to William Grieves who died 23 years ago. She is the last of the family of six, four boys and two girls. Not long after she came to Michigan, she united with the Methodist Episcopal church and retained her membership during her lifetime faithful in attendance and generous with her labors for the denomination. She leaves five children, Mary and Harry at home, Capt. Charles C. Grieves of Shepard, Col Loren C. Grieves, Geneva, Ill, and Mrs. E. R. Allmendinger, Dearborn, and four grandchildren.
