Grieves, 62, died at the home of his brother, Col. Loren C. Grieves, Thursday evening at 9:30 o'clock following an illness of a year's duration. He was s son of Mr. and Mrs. William Grieves and was born on the old family homestead in Ionia township September 16, 1874 where he spent his entire life. Survivors are two sisters, Miss Mary E. Grieves of Ionia township and Mrs. Carrie Allmendinger of Dearborn; two brothers, Captain Charles C. Grieves, USN, retired of Tucson, Ariz. and Col. Loren C. Grieves, USA, retired of Ionia. Services will be held from the home of col. Loren Grieves, 414 East Main street, Sunday afternoon, January 31, at 3 o'clock with Rev. Earl Kneebone of the St. John's Episcopal church officiating. Interment will be in the family lot at Highland Park cemetery.
