Griffin, age 72, of Ionia, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2005 at the Heartland Healthcare Center in Ionia. She was born on July 19, 1932 in Ionia, the daughter of Louis and Fern (Lece) Agostini. She graduated from SS. Peter and Paul Academy in 1950 and Aquinas College in 1954. She married Jerry Griffin on December 28, 1957 at SS. Peter and Paul Church in Ionia. Sally and Jerry were married for 48 years. Sally taught for 37 years at Lincoln School in Grand Rapids, St. Joseph School in Battle Creek, Special Education at Ionia Public Schools and Kindergarten and second grade at Twin Rivers in Ionia and retired in 1991. Preceding her in death were her parents, Louis and Fern Agostini and her parents-in-law, Francis and Margaret Griffin. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Jerry; daughters, Amy (Steve) Caberto of Bitburg, Germany, Kelly (Curt) Green from Charleston, IL and Molly (Scott) Peterson of Ionia; son, Tom (Miffer) Griffin of Ionia; grandchildren, Shannon (Andy) Schmid of New Braunfels, TX, Megan Caberto of Bitburg, Germany, Ashley, Emily and Griffin Green of Charleston, IL, Maggie and Brooke Peterson of Ionia and Justine Griffin of Ionia; one great-grandchild, Peyton Schmid of New Braunfels, TX; sister, Sue (Gary) Swinehart of Ionia; brothers, Louis (Linda) Agostini of Ionia, Mike Agostini of Ionia and Phil (Dorothy) Agostini of Arizona; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Sally loved bring with her family and grandchildren. She loved playing bridge and traveling with Jerry to Panama City beach in the winters. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wed., June 8, 2005 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia, with the Rev. Max Frego and Deacon Zenon Cardenas presiding. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the SS.
