Portland Observer, 13 Apr 1939

Warren Griffin, 93, a pioneer resident of this vicinity, died Saturday at the 
home of a daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Young, at Lansing.  
Services were held at the Gorsline-Runciman funeral home in Lansing Wednesday, 
with burial in Portland.  Rev. John H. Stewart officiated.

The deceased was born in Sebewa where he associated with Indian boys during his 
youth.  He later cleared a 60-acre farm at Frost corners, now owned by Richard 
Wooden.  He moved to Lansing with his wife 10 years ago.

The daughter is the sole survivor.  Mr. Griffin had two sisters, Mrs. Mili 
Beden and Mrs. Anna Weippert?; and four brothers, Allen, Newell, Henry and 
Edward, all of whom are deceased.
