The Ionia Standard, Friday, June 29, 1883

Mr. Wm. Griffin died at Palo last Thursday and was buried on Sunday.  And 
thus, one by one Father Time calls in the old pioneers who did the hard work 
to bring about the civilization which we now enjoy.  For thirty years and over 
he had been a useful and respected citizen of Palo.
