Ionia Sentinel Standard-3 Oct 1987
Victor E. Griffin, 77, of 3173 Belding Road, Orleans, died Friday morning at 
Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  He was born in Mecosta County June 16, 1910, 
the son of William and Minnie Swett Griffin.  He retired in 1969 from 
Industrial Tool and Machine Co in Lowell.  He owned and operated Griffin 
Brothers Roofing and Siding Co. in Ionia.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy 
during World War II.  He was married to the former Myrtle Bussell; she preceded 
him in death in 1981.



Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Keith (June) Chambers and Mrs. Ron (Jean) 
Clifford, both of Orleans, and Donna Purdy of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren; one 
sister, Vida Bergan of Lansing.  A son Donald Griffin, preceded him in death in 
1947; he was also preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.



Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. from the Johnson Funeral Home, 
Belding with the Rev. Kendall Harger officiating.  Burial will be in Balcom 
Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and 
Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
