Ionia County News - Thursday, Dec. 15, 1955

Peter W. Griffin, 67, died Saturday morning abut 8:15 at St. Mary's Hospital in 
Grand Rapids, where he had been a patient for ten days.

He was born in Mecosta county September 23, 1888, son of Jasper and Nettie 
Griffin.

The family moved here four years ago from Grand Rapids and resided on Route 2. 
He was engaged in farming and also employed by the Nash Kelvinator Corporation 
in Grand Rapids until health forced him to retire.

Surviving are his wife, Vevah, one daughter, Miss Marian Griffin, at home, two 
sons, Mart of Kalamazoo and Lynn of Lake Odessa; one sister, Mrs. Constance 
Beebe of Rockford: five brothers, John of Virginia, Minnesota, Henry of Coloma, 
Ozial of Lowell, Delbert of Portland and Roy of Holt; seven grandchildren and 
two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:00 at the Pickens funeral chapel, with 
burial in Lakeside cemetery.
