In 1882 she came to the United States with her husband and family consisting of four children, Elizabeth, John, Thomas and Marie, and Miss Ann being born in this country. Her husband, Elias Griffiths, died in 1897. Mrs. Griffiths kept a boarding house here for a number of years. She is widely known as “mother Griffiths.” She leaves to mourn her death, five children: Mrs. James Shay, Portland, Mich.; John Griffiths, of this city; Thomas Griffiths, of Louisville, Ky.; Mrs. James Rogers, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Mrs. Walter Snyder, of Grand Rapids, Mich., and a host of friends. Funeral was held last Saturday, March 19 from the home, H. E. Curch officiating. Burial in the old cemetery on State road.
