John Griffith died Tuesday night quite suddenly of apoplexy, he had been down to
his daughter’s and left there about 5 o’clock; and while Thos. Warren was coming
to town about 8 o’clock he found him lying in the road unable to get up.  Being
near S.E. Mikesell’s he called him and together they carried him home where he
soon expired.  Mr. Griffith has lived here for a number of years, coming to this
country from England.  He was about 60 years old.
