Rena Ann Pigeon was born in Thompsonville, June 1, 1914, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Pigeon and came to this city to live at the age of 15. She was graduated from the local high school with the class of 1932 and was a member of the Congregational church. She was married to John Griffiths, Jr., at Napoleon, Ohio, Oct. 28, 1940 and to this union was born one daughter, Carol Ann, who is six years old. Mrs. Griffiths had been ill four weeks when she was taken to Blodgett hospital in Grand Rapids, July 17 for examination and X-rays, followed by surgery which disclosed the true cause of her illness to be cancer of the liver. She was returned to her home at 734 Harrison where she passed away. Left to mourn their loss are the husband and small daughter, her mother, Mrs. Claude Pigeon and one sister, Margaret, Mrs. Lyle Paris, besides other relatives and a legion of friends. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 o’clock at the Ellis Funeral Home. Rev. H.S. Ellis will officiate and interment will be in River Ridge cemetery. Acting pallbearers chosen will be Norval Dunlap, Charles Johnson, Nick Geisen, Charles Partak, Robert McNally and Charles Brakora.
