CARL A. GRIGSBY 1933-2017
Carl Grigsby passed away Sept. 18, 2017 at the age of 83. He was born Oct. 9, 
1933 to Otto and Eva (Pringle) Grisby. He graduated from Lyons High school in 
the class of 1952. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Hull, on June 21, 
1958. Carl was an avid sportsman. He played baseball, golf, basketball, 
racquetball throughout his life. Later in his life, he rarely missed watching a 
Tigers or Lions game. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking, frequently sharing 
the products of his labor.

He worked at the Department of Corrections at the Richard A. Handlon and Carson 
City Correctional Facilities, retiring in 1988. He then worked at Gilroy's for 
12 years, fulfilling the wish to work in a hardware store.

Carl is survived by his three daughters; Carol (David) Lund of Gardnerville, NV, 
Dawn Griffin of Ionia, and Cindy Grigsby of Ionia, five grandchildren; Jeffrey 
(Kelli) Lund of Provo, UT, Lori (Daniel) Miller of Albany, CA. Travis (Tigganie) 
Lund of North Salt lake, UT. Alaina (Glen) Heglin of Midland, MI, and Jonathan 
Griffin of Greenville, MI, and five great-grandchildren; Bekka, Hannah and 
Xander Lund, and Benny and Jacob Miller.  He was preceded in death by his 
beloved wife, Dorothy, and a great-grandson, Riley Lund.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept, 21, at 11 a.m. at the Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment Tuttle 
cemetery. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Heartland Healthcare
