Feb. 23, 1967 Mrs. Maxine Grinage Passed Away Saturday Mrs. Maxine G. Grinage, 54, of Woodland passed away suddenly Saturday afternoon at the Osteopathic Hospital, Grand Rapids where she had been a patient three days. A native of Grand Rapids she graduated from the Otsego High school in 1931 and from the Parsons Business University in Kalamazoo late in 1932. Mrs. Grinage attended the Methodist church at Woodland and had been employed by the Woodland Mutual Insurance Co. since the death of her husband Alan. Mr. Grinage operated a store at Woodland for several years after moving to Woodland in 1945. After selling the business he was a car salesman at the time of his death, July 7, 1961. Surviving are five daughters Mrs. Robert (Gloria) Heath of Battle Creek, Mrs.David (Patricia) Slater and Mrs. Robert (Gaye) Chase of Hastings, Marsha and Paula at home; a son Stephen of Lake Odessa; eight grandchildren; her mother Mrs.Sarah Gill and one sister Mrs.Basil Hencke both of Athens. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 1:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa with burial in the Tuttle cemetery, Ionia. Rev. Richard VandenBosch officiated.
