Grinage, 50, of Woodland died suddenly Friday evening following a heart attack. He became ill while driving on the Whitneyville road in Cascade township, Kent county and pulled to the side of the road and stopped. A motorist traveling behind him stopped to assist him. Kent county medical examiner, Dr. Barosky said death was due to a heart attack. Mr. Grinage was born in Allegan county, May 10, 1911, the son of Clarence and Alma Stoddard Grinage and was married to Maxine Gill of Otsego, November 24, 1932. He moved to Woodland in 1945 where he operated a grocery store. For the past three years he had been employed by Berger Motor Sales in Ionia. He was a member of the Woodland Lions club. Survivors include his wife, and one son, Stephen of Lake Odessa, five daughters, Mrs. Robert heath of Battle Creek and Patricia, Gayle, Marsha and Paula at home, his mother, Mrs. Alma Grinage of Plainwell, two grandchildren, three sisters , Mrs. Eleanor Gloden of Lansing, Mrs. Lois Roberts of Poughkepsie, N.Y., and Mrs. Edna Dalrymple of New Your, N.Y.; three brothers, Sheridan Grinage of Plainwell, Wright Grinage of Kalamazoo and Clarence Grinage Jr. of Delton. Funeral services will be at Pickens funeral chapel Monday at 1:30 p.m. with burial at Tuttle cemetery. The Rev. Ralph Tweedy will officiate.
