The Ionia Standard, Friday, July 3, 1908
John Grinnell died very suddenly at the county infirmary, yesterday.  He was 
simple-minded, 32 years old, and had been at the county house since five years 
of age, being sent from Berlin township.  Under the tactful management of Mr. 
and Mrs. Gaffney, he had proved obedient and willing, and they are very much 
shocked and grieved by his sudden death.  His father is dead, and nothing 
seems to be known of other near relatives, but the remains will receive the 
tender care of those in charge of the institution.
