Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 1 Feb 1960

Elton W. Griswold, 52, lifelong resident of Palo, died of a heart attack Sunday 
at 12:45 p.m. while driving a car near Hall’s landing on the south side of Long 
lake.  Coroner Neil Phelps said he had been treated for a heart condition.  He 
was employed at Gibson’s company at Greenville.  He was married to Ruth Witte 
in 1932.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Rocky at home, and Larry of Palo; 
two daughters, Vearl at home and Mrs. James Bierman of Detroit; two 
grandchildren; four brothers, Elvert of Long lake, Elmer of Eagle, Ellis of 
Hubbardston and Earl of Ionia; five sisters, Mrs. Elsie Kendall of Ionia, Mrs. 
Eulah Rowley of Orleans, Mrs. Eunice Blank of Elsie, Mrs. Ethel Clark of Grand 
Ledge and Mrs. Esther Cunningham of Fenwick.

Funeral service will be held at Stebbins funeral home in Sheridan Tuesday at 2 
p.m.  Interment will be at Palo cemetery.
