MARGARET GROFF A PATIENT SUFFERER QUIETLY ANSWERS THE MASTER'S CALL. ----------- Mrs. Margaret Groff of this village died very quietly and peacefully while resting on the couch last Friday afternoon. So quietly did she pass that those in the home with her did to realize that she was dead until told by others, as she seemed just asleep. She had been in poor health for about two years or since before the death of her husband two years ago. The Groff family lived on their farm in Campbell until coming to Lake Odessa four years ago this spring. On December 1, 1919 the husband died leaving the wife and mother with the three children. the family realize the loss of their patient loving mother, whose word was law through love. Everyone who knew her seems to testify to her beautiful life. ----------- OBITUARY Margaret Allerdings Groff was born in Campbell, Ionia County, Michigan, July 17, 1867. On March 17th she was united in marriage to John Groff. To this union were born three children, William A., Burton A. and Nellie A. She united with the Campbell Brethren church in 1915 to which she was true and faithful until death claimed its own. Her final illness began about two years ago. Everything that loving minds could think to do was done for mother. She bore her suffering patiently and uncomplainingly. On January 27, 1922, she quietly went to sleep, aged 54 years, six months and 10 days. Che leaves to mourn her departure, two sons and one daughter, two brothers, and aged mother, besides a host of relatives and friends who will miss her kind words and smiles. The funeral was held at the M.E. church Monday afternoon, Rev. Homer Anderson preaching. Mesdames Hazel Roush, Pearl Swager and Messis. Roy Thomas and Homer Henney accompanied by Mrs. Ilo Thomas, furnished the music. Burial was at Lakeside cemetery by the side of her husband. Those from away who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Chas. Maines, daughter Frances and son Harvey of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Oren Jumper of St. Johns; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Alerting and Mrs. Emma Kdepfer of Alto; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Chambers and Mrs. Emerick and Carson City; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Sears of Mason and a host of relatives and friends from Hastings and Woodland. -------------- CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the neighbors and friends, the K. of P., and the I.O.O.F. lodges, the seventh grade at school, the churches, Sunday School, the U.
