Thomas H. Groom, 64, of Belding passed away Saturday October 25, 2014 at home 
under the loving care of his family and Hospice.  Thomas was born on November 
26, 1949 in Belding, the son of Charles K. and Maxine J. (Beckwith) Groom.  

He graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1968 and retired from 
the State of Michigan- Department of Corrections in 1991 after many years of 
service.  Thomas was a member of the Ionia and Kent County Sheriff Posse and 
enjoyed woodworking and cars. 

He was preceded by his parents and one brother Chuck.  Thomas is loved and 
survived by his children; Beth and Jim LaCroix of Edmore, Bobby and Greg 
Thurston of Palo, Thomas H. Groom Jr. of Cedar Springs, Trish and Steve Lillie 
of Sheridan, his grandchildren; Nikki, Jordan, Kayla, Andy, Stephen, Darren, 
Caden, his great grandchildren; Jericho, Rylen and his sister; Terri and Rex 
Johnson of Belding. 

In keeping with his wishes no funeral or visitation will take place.  Memorials 
may be given to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.  Envelopes are available at 
the funeral home.
