Ionia County News, 27 Feb 1936

Mrs. William Gross died in Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, Saturday, 
February 22, after a few days illness. 

Viola Katherine Hyser was born in Indiana, June 19, 1903, the daughter of Mr. 
and Mrs. Rufus Hyser.  Her parents died when she was a small child and she came 
to Ionia to live with a sister, Mrs. Ethel Christopher.  In 1925 she was united 
in marriage to William Gross and since that time has lived in Chicago and Grand 
Rapids.

Remaining relatives are her husband, five sons, William, Jr., Edward, Robert, 
George and Douglas; four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Christopher, Ionia; Mrs. B. 
Creviston and Mrs. Sigler, Hobart, Indiana, and Mrs. James McLaughlin of Grant.

Rev. A. L. Bingaman conducted the funeral service from the Evangelical church 
Tuesday afternoon.  Burial was in Highland Park cemetery.
