Grove, 88, died early Wednesday, June 9, at a Traverse City hospital after a long period of illness. He was born July 25, 1865, at Castalia, Ohio, the son of William and Amanda Grove. He was married to Rebecca A. Baker, Oct. 29, 1890, who passed away Oct. 15, 1939. They came to Lyons in 1903 where he operated a general store. They moved to Chicago in 1918, returning to Lyons in 1930. He was then in the general store in Lyons owned by his brother, the late Frank H. Grove. The survivors are one son, Bliss W. Grove of Lyons; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Gladys) Greer of Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. R. B. Hotalen (Esther) of Chicago, six grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Charles Sieger of Kansas, Ohio. Mrs. Laurence I. Hale of Ionia is a niece. Three sons, Edwin, Guy and Theodore died some years ago. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 11, at 2 p.m. at the Shaw- Rivett funeral home in Muir. The Rev. Herbert E. Wylie of Lyons will officiate. Burial will be in the Lyons cemetery.
