Grove, 88, former Lyons merchant for 35 years, died Saturday morning at 8:10 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Laurence I. Hale, 217 East Washington street. Mr. Grove had been in ill health for a number of years. He had been seriously ill the past two weeks. Born in Castalin, Ohio, October 25, 1859, Mr. Grove came to Lyons in 1906 where he operated a store. He was forced to retire about eight years ago because of poor health and failing eyesight. He has been living with Mrs. Hale several years. His wife died in Kansas, O. in 1930. Funeral services are to be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Boynton funeral home on Rich street. Interment will be in Lyons cemetery. Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Laurence I. Hale, a sister, Mrs. Charles Selger, of Kansas, Ohio, a brother, B. W. Grove of Lyons, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Audrienne Andres, of Ionia.
