Daily Sentinel - Thursday, Dec. 26, 1912

The home of Delbert Groves, 315 Silver street was made sorrowful Christmas 
morning by the death of their eight-year-old daughter, Laura Elizabeth, who 
succumbed to an attack of malignant diphtheria with which she was stricken 
Sunday. The disease is supposed to have been brought from Saginaw by company. 
The little girl was buried shortly after her death in Highland park cemetery. 
Other children who played with her have been quarantined but no further signs 
of the trouble have been seen.
