Ionia County News – Thursday, 20 February 1936
William N. Guernsey, 66, died at the University hospital, Ann Arbor, at 7:00 
a.m. Tuesday, February 18, after a short illness.

Mr. Guernsey was born in Ionia County, April 24, 1869, the son of Alvin and 
Angie Guernsey.  In 1895 he was united in marriage with Miss Delia Sunderland 
and one son, Robert A., was born to them.  The first Mrs. Guernsey died in 
May, 1901 and in 1905 Mr. Guernsey married Miss Myrtle Darrow of Ionia, who 
with their two daughters, Mrs. Carleton Acker, Ionia, and Mrs. Lee Largent of 
Detroit, and his son, Robert, survives him.  He also leaves three 
grandchildren and a brother, Jesse Guernsey of Lowell.

Mr. Guernsey was a kind and loving husband and father and a good citizen.  He 
will be greatly missed in the community where he lived so many years.

The funeral services will be from Bradley Funeral home at two o’clock Friday 
afternoon, February 21.  Rev. Paul L. Stewart of the Church of Christ will 
officiate and burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery,
