Paul L. Stewart, of Ionia, officiating and interment at the Tuttle cemetery. Mr. Guernsey died Thursday morning at 6 o’clock after he was stricken with a heart attack. He had been ill for the past year and a half with a heart ailment but had continued work on the farm. He was born August 8, 1873, son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Guernsey, of New York and came to Ionia when he was but a small boy. In 1893 he married Miss Eva Guernsey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Guernsey, of Ionia, and moved to Lyons on the farm where they have been residing until the time of his death. In 1921 his son, Leonard Guernsey was killed while helping a farmer put up hay when the car ran off the track hitting him on the head and killing him almost instantly. He is survived by the wife, two daughters, Mrs. Flora Jay, of Ionia, and Mrs. Minnie Ward, of Ionia, two grandchildren, Russell and Velma Ward, three brothers, Orie Guernsey and Orin Guernsey, of New York and Simon Guernsey of Palo, one sister, of New York, four half brothers, of New York, and two half sisters, of New York.
