The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, September 4, 1962

Funeral service was conducted Friday for John L. Guernsey, 90, who died 
Wednesday morning at Greenville United Memorial hospital.  The Rev. George 
Frank of Langston officiated and interment was at Tuttle cemetery.

He was a farmer in Fairplains township, Montcalm county 34 years, and later 
lived on North Jefferson street in Ionia.  

Bearers were Dale Burdy, Max Guernsey, Ervin Bradley, Wendell Yager, Roger 
Lance and Frank Lance, Jr.

Out of town persons attending were Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Guernsey, Mr. and Mrs. 
Max Guernsey and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Bradley and family, Mr. and Mrs. 
Vern Minard, Mrs. Blaine Minard and Mrs. Dale Buckely of Greenville; Mrs. 
Porter Parks and Eldoris Hahn of Wacousta, Mrs. Lois Messer and Dale Burdy of 
Flint, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Calkins, Mrs. Lyle Minikey and Mrs. Amanda Hains of 
Fenwick, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Guernsey and Catherine Harrison, Orleans; Gladys 
Case, Paul Tularico and Reva Bloss of Butternut; and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Teall 
of Muir.
