Guernsey Died This Morning At Home Of Daughter, Mrs. Jos. Morse. Mrs. Mary R. Guernsey, wife of Albert Guernsey, died of apoplexy at 5:30 o’clock this (Thursday) morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Morse, north of the village. She was stricken at 8:00 o’clock last night and from that time on had no chance of recovery. She had been making her home with her daughter since last November. Mrs. Guernsey was 77 years of age on January 1st last, having been born at Red Creek, N. Y., January 1, 1843. Her maiden name was Mary Lounsbery. She came to Michigan with her husband about 42 years ago. They first settled on a farm near Matherton and later on a farm between Lyons and Pewamo, having sold the latter place last fall on account of their advancing age and ill health. Since selling their farm they had been living with their daughter, Mrs. Morse. Besides the husband and the daughter mentioned, Mrs. Guernsey leaves a son, Jesse Guernsey, of Matherton, a brother, Bert Lounsbery, and a sister, Miss Sarah Lounsbery, both residing at Hinsdale, Ill. Mr. and Mrs. Guernsey were originally the parents of seven children. Funeral services for Mrs. Guernsey are to be held Saturday morning at 10:00 o’clock, at the Morse home, and the body will be taken across country to the East Plains cemetery, for burial.
