Ionia Standard - Thursday, Sept. 28, 1899

Ezra M. Guernsey, a long time resident of this county, most of the time on a 
farm in Ionia township, died last night at Lansing, where he recently went to 
live with a daughter. He served in the war of the Rebellion, as a member of Co. 
E. Third Michigan infantry, Capt. D.C. Crawford's company, and was in the 
service about two years. Remains will be brought here for funeral services and 
interment. Deceased was an ardent member of the United Brethren church, which 
society he joined some 35 years ago. The funeral service will be held in the 
church of Christ at 12:45. Rev. D.H. Shelly will officiate.

the funeral of Ezra M. Guernsey, at Church of Christ.
