Guernsey, 103, of Ionia, passed away on Sunday April 20, 2003 at Heartland Health Care Center in Ionia. She was born August 3, 1899 in Ionia, the daughter of Roman and Ida (Clapp) Lehman. Mrs. Guernsey was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of World War I, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, as well as a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia. She enjoyed baking and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughter Nadine; son Robert; one brother; two sisters. She is survived by daughter, Joyce Holland of Hastings; Annie was also a loving grandmother to 23 grandchildren, 54 great- grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Kenneth Harger, Pastor of Shiloh Community Church at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Cook Chapel, 220 Rich Street, Ionia. Interment services will be conducted by Fr. Melvin Fox, Pastor of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, at Highland Park Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today.
