Ionia Sentinel Standard - Mon. March 13, 1972

                               JESSE GUERNSEY

Jesse Guernsey, 105, died at St.Johns rest home Saturday morning.He was born 
June 18, 1866, in New York State and came to Matherton when seven and lived the 
rest of his life in that area.

He was a farmer and also worked at the stove Mill in Matherton many years ago. 
He was a member of United Brethren Church of Matherton. His wife Zelda died six 
years ago.

Surviving are a son Alton Guernsey of Bath and foster son, Robert Kilcherman of 
Hubbardston, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m at Estep Funeral Home North of 
Muir, Rev.James Baney will officiate and interment will be at East Plains 
Cemetery.

Bearers will be Lyle Bennett, Ted and Bill Clark, William Wayne and DeLane 
Silvernail.
