The Portland Observer, Wednesday, February 1, 1882
Mr. J. H. Guernsey, of Orange, who has been working the farm of D. Coleman, 
lost two children recently from diphtheria, one a little girl, aged 9 years 
and 5 months died on the 14th and the other a boy aged 4 years and 6 months 
died on the 24th.  Mr. Coleman’s boy is now dangerously ill with the disease.
