The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, December 23, 1919
Dennis Guernsey, an old resident of Ionia township, died Tuesday morning at 
the age of 82 years.  His wife died about a year ago, since when he has been 
making his home with his son, Emery Guernsey.  Mr. Guernsey recently figured 
in a case in the probate court when his other children wished to have him 
adjudged insane, owing to the fact that he had deeded his property to Emery, 
in return for Emery’s care for him during his lifetime, and under the promise 
that he would be decently buried.  The case was decided against the children 
contesting the deed.  The notice of the funeral will be given later.
