Guggemos, aged 106, of Saranac, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus Christ on June 6, 2006. She was born June 3, 1900 in Lansing, the daughter of Sigmund and Anna (Keller) Guggemos. Louise attended Lansing St. Mary's School. She lived and worked in Lansing until 1943 then she moved to Texas. She was an accountant with the Railroad in Houston, and lived there until 1999. She was still driving her car at the age of 99 when she moved back to Michigan to live with her niece in Saranac. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling including several trips to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the Orient. The last seven years she spent her winters at Mustang Island in Texas. Louise will be greatly missed by all her nieces and nephews , their children, and grandchildren and her many friends. Louise was preceded in death by her parents Sigmund and Anna Guggemos; her brothers John, George, Harold and sisters Mary (Henderson), Gertrude (Gobat), and Katherine (Christensen). A Memorial Service will be held on Monday June 12, 2006 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Saranac. Family and friends are invited to come at 10 a.m. for visiting and sharing. The Memorial Service will begin at 11 a.m. Nephew Donald Christensen (pastor of St. Andrew's Saginaw) will be officiating.
