Portland Woman Found Dead at Home
Mrs. Christine L. Guilford, 63, of Portland was found dead at her route 3 home
Friday 
afternoon and Coroner Dale Kauffman said death was from a heart attack.

A native of Grand Ledge she was a retired school teacher after 33 years in the
teaching 
profession and had taught at rural schools in the Portland area and also at
Mulliken, 
Lansing and Portland. A past matron of the OES, she was a member of the Ladies
Literary 
Club, Danby Grange, Farm Bureau, MEA Retired Teachers Association, Portland
Methodist 
church and the WSCS of the church.

Survivors include her husband Harold "Ted" a daughter, Mrs. VIrgil (Roberta) Manley
of 
Lake Odessa; two grandchildren; a brother and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 at the Neller Funeral Home at Portland with
burial 
in the Danby cemetery.
