Petra R. “Pat” Guillen, 98, of Belding, died Monday afternoon Aug. 3, 2009 at 
the Metron of Belding Nursing Home.

Pat was born on Jan. 18, 1911 in Laredo, Texas, the daughter of Teodoro and 
Teodoza Castro Ramos. Pat retired in 1973 after 33 years of service as a 
seamstress for General Tire in Ionia. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic 
Church.

Pat was married on Oct. 7, 1940 in Laredo to Juan Guillen and he survives 
along with their grandchildren, Mary Lou (Ross) Taylor, Patricia Huff, James 
(Pam) Juarez, Steven Juarez, Brenda Juarez and Ron Juarez; 10 great-
grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; her nieces and nephews, Olga (Max) 
Gould of Maryland, Connie Snead, Norma Arce, Joe Arce, Ricardo Arce, Arturo 
Arce and Mary Ramos all of Texas; and special friends Sam and Shirley Adams.  
Pat was preceded in death by 2 sons, Eligio “Cooky” Juarez and Johnny Guillen 
and her brothers and sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009 at St. 
Joseph Catholic Church, Belding with Fr. Fred Brucker presiding. Interment 
will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 
and 6-8 p.m. at the Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where Rosary will 
be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of 
one's choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
