Lake Odessa Wave - February 2, 1961
          EMILY GUNDERMAN 53 DIED LAST THURSDAY
   Mrs. Emily Gunderman, 53 passed away early Thursday morning at her farm home,
route two.  She had been 
in ill heath for several years.  She was born at Lakeview and her parents were
Warren and Esther Simmons.  
She married Elmer Gunderman at Portland in 1927.  They had lived in the Lake Odessa
farm area since 1929.
   Mrs. Gunderman was a member of the East Odessa Wesleyan Methodist church.
   Surviving are her husband Elmer, two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Smith of Battle Creek
and Mary Jane at home; 
two sons, James of rural Lake Odessa, and Fred at home; one sister, Mrs. Grant
Ellison of Greenville; one 
brother, Dewey Simmons of Grand Rapids, and six grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pickens funeral chapel
with burial in the Lakeside 
cemetery.  Rev. Delores Lobdell officiated.
