She had been in ill health for some time. She is the widow of the late George Gundrum, who was a prominent Ionia druggist and a director of the old State Savings bank of Ionia. Mrs. Gundrum was well known in Ionia. Subsequent Publication: Thursday, January 30, 1941 Funeral services for Mrs. Catharine Gundrum, 89, who died at 2:30 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at her home, one and one-half miles north of Ionia city on M-14, will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Myers funeral home with Rev. Frederick G. Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery. Mrs. Gundrum, a former Ionia city school teacher, was born November 16, 1851, the daughter of William and Pauline MacPherson. She had resided her entire life on the old MacPherson homestead. She married George Gundrum in 1877 who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death y three brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Gundrum was a charter and honorary member of the Woman’s Literary club. Surviving her besides her sister, Miss Mary MacPherson, with whom she made her home, are six nephews and one niece.
