Gunn, son of Theodore and Amelia Gunn, was born in Lenawee county, Mich., March 30, 1865, and passed away in his home at Sebewa Center April 12, 1918, after a three weeks illness of pneumonia. He lived practically all his life at the Center, his parents having moved there while he was an infant. He was united in marriage to Miss Louise C. Sayer April 20, 1898. Brother Gunn was an active member and official in the Center M. E. church. He always placed the affairs of the Kingdom first. He loved the church and his Savior in word and deeds. He was industrious, upright and unassuming. He had hoped since his retirement from active farming last fall to do even more in community service for his Master, but his work must have been done and he was called to his reward. He leaves to mourn his departure his faithful wife; two brothers, Isaac and George Gunn; and three sisters, Mrs. Belle Sayer, Mrs. Sarah Oatley and Miss Ella Gunn, besides a large circle of the relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday April 14th, in the church he served and loved, and was attended by hosts of friends. “Sunset, did you say aye but remember that sunset in one country is sunrise in another. So sometimes the pink and the purple of life’s sunset meets and mingles with the golden glory of Eternity’s morning”: H. W.
