Lowell Journal, 25 May 1894

Mr. Harlo M. Gunnison died Friday May the 18th at 3 o’clock at his residence in
the south east part of the township of South Boston from dropsy of the heart. 
Funeral services were held at the house, Rev. Mr. Flint officiating.  Mr.
Gunnison was about 57 years old, he leaves two sons to mourn their loss.  His
wife preceded him to the grave about three months ago.  Mr. Gunnison was born in
the state of New York in 1847.  When about ten years old he moved with his
father and step-mother to the town of South Boston, Ionia county, Michigan where
he has since lived for the most of the time with the exception of two or three
years which he lived in the township of Lowell.  Mr. Gunnison has been three
times married and three times divorced by death.
