Ionia Sentinel Standard, 18 Oct 2000

Ellen R. Gunter, 85, of Saranac, passed away Oct. 17, 2000.  She was born May 7,
1915, in Selkirk, the daughter of Fred and Addie (Bennett) Quigley.  She went on
to marry Richard Gunter March 8, 1949.  He still survives her in Saranac.

Also surviving are her daughter, Susan (Arthur) Ballard of Lowell; brothers,
Arnold (Dorothy) Quigley of West Branch and Harold (Ann) Quigley of West Branch;
one sister, Elsie Delaney of Rose City; grandchildren, Todd (Tracey) Gunter and
Troy Ballard; and great-grandchildren, Kody and Shane.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gunter will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Lake
Funeral Home in Saranac with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.  Interment Saranac
Cemetery.  Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the
funeral home.  Anyone wishing may make contributions to Ionia Area Hospice.
