Richard K. Gunter, 87, of Saranac passed away Oct. 2, 2012 in Grand Rapids. He 
was born Feb. 10, 1925 in Grand Rapids. He was born Feb. 10, 1925 in Saginaw, 
the son of Arthur and Avis (Benner) Gunter.

Richard married Ellen Quigley in 1949. She preceded him in death in 2000. He 
retired from General Motors Co. as a Tool and Die Man. He loved to hunt and 
fish.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Sue Ballard of Saranac, grandchildren, 
Todd (Tracey) Gunter of Saranac and Troy (Sue) Ballard of Luna Pier; great-
grandchildren, Kody (Steph) Gunter of Lyons and Shane Gunter of Saranac; and 
one great-great-grandchild, Braydon Gunter. 

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lake Funeral Home in 
Saranac with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment Saranac Cemetery. 
Visitation will be on Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
