Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thurs., April 24, 1980
CARSON CITY - Chester R. Gurnee, 56, of 515 W. Main St. in Carson City died 
Tuesday evening in Carson City Hopsital.

He was born Aug. 20, 1923, the son of Walter and Emma Gurnee.

He attended Lansing Public Schools and was a veteran of World War II, when he 
served with the U.S. Army.

He married Donna J. Wiggins in December, 1942.

Mr. Gurnee moved to the Palo area in 1947, before coming to Carson City three 
years ago.

He retired from General Tire corp in 1968.

Surviving are his wife; one son; three daughters; one brother; one sister; a 
half-sister and seven granchildren.

Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Hull Memorial Chapel in Muir, 
with the Rev. Kenneth Harger of the Shiloh Community Church officiating.  
Burial will be in Palo Cemetery.
